Plantar Fasciitis Patient Story

Plantar Fasciitis Treatment Bradford

The following article was very kindly provided to us from patient Rene Wood. This is an overview of her experience suffering from Plantar Fasciitis and how Chiropody Feet First has enabled her to get back on her feet, free of pain.

Pain from Exercise

Plantar Fasciitis is a very painful condition which has made it impossible for me to walk any distance without having a great deal of pain. The condition occurred at the beginning of May, doing exercises that I wasn’t used to!

I used cold compresses and tried rolling a bottle under my foot to alleviate the pain. Nothing worked except to take strong pain killers on a regular basis, which wasn’t a good idea.

On one of my visits to my Deborah in late June, I told her what I was experiencing and she asked me if I had heard of Laser Treatment.

She explained that it was non-invasive, i.e. it wasn’t an operation etc. and that it would stimulate my body to speed up the healing process in the tendons I had damaged in May. She recommended a course of about 10 treatments.

Commencing Treatment

I began on the 1st of July and had 2 in the first week and four the following week. I didn’t really feel any change after the first two treatments, but after two the following week, I began to notice the pain easing a little. The next two in the same week showed a marked difference to the intensity of the pain and the length of time it lasted. I was still getting the pain in the evening and during the night, but also a warm, soothing sensation under my foot.

The Results

After the seventh treatment I was able to walk at home and in the garden for more prolonged times without pain, only twinges now and again. The eighth treatment continued this progress and I was able to be on my feet for longer periods without pain.

I am now about to have my ninth and tomorrow will have my tenth and last treatment. Deborah advised me that I should introduce short walks gradually, hopefully without pain. I also purchased shoe inserts from her at the end of the second week of treatment, to re-align the shape of my feet as I have had flat feet all my life.

The Laser treatment gives a warm sensation to the area and is very relaxing and as was said earlier, is non-invasive.
